Legal Secretary/Assistant – Graduate

LEGAL SECRETARY/ASSISTANT

My Client is currently considering applications from Graduates who have completed or are in the process of completing their law degree. They require people who will provide excellent legal services to clients within various areas of the practice ranging from employment, personal injury, property and commercial matters and contracts.

You would be expected to:-

Maintain a good working relationship with all staff
Provide a friendly and efficient service without exception to all clients, making due allowance for stress.
Keep the client fully and regularly informed at all times.
Liaise with external representatives such as Residential and Nursing Homes, Estate Agents, Funeral Directors, Brokers, Auctioneers and Valuers and other interested parties.
Attend clients at home or Residential Home, hospital as required.
Be empathetic and attentive.
Pay close attention to detail and understand the importance of keeping meticulous records.
Field calls and deal with all of the administrative aspects of transactions under direction or on own initiative including inputting using all software programs.
Store and retrieve, updating records and databases as appropriate, photocopying, filing, sending faxes and e-mails and opening new files etc.
Sort and prioritise mail, e-mails and messages.
Witness Wills, Codicils and other Deeds and documents.
Be responsible for the preparation of straightforward legal documents as required.
Work over and above normal office hours at short notice if the clients cannot make office hours and where required when attending a house clearance.
Carry out other tasks that may be reasonably required but may not be specifically listed above
