Software Tester (Manual & Automation)

An industry leading organisation specialising in high availability software systems are looking for an experienced Software Tester to join their organisation at an exciting time.

The successful Software Tester will have the unique opportunity to introduce a testing function to an existing business and have significant influence on the processes, practises and tools.

The Software Tester will have the following skills, experience and attributes:

* Solid experience of manual and automation test development execution in a commercial environment.
* Knowledgeable in Test Automation technologies and practises.
* Ability to take the lead on best practise and confidently advise the business of the appropriate course of action.
* Previous experience of setting up a test function from scratch – advantageous.
* Experience of testing web based applications.
* Solid experience of test planning.
* Experienced in gathering, reporting and monitoring metrics and defect analysis.
* Experienced in operating within an Agile environment.
* Previous experience of working on software systems which require 24/7 availability.
* ISEB / ISQB qualified.
* Knowledge of software development , ideally SQL – advantageous.
* Knowledge of querying databases – advantageous.

The responsibilities of the Software Tester will include:

* Setting up and establishing the test function from the beginning.
* Running and executing test scripts.
* Liasion with the project team to ensure test coverage of functional requirements.
* Investigation and logging of defects.
* To build a solid understanding of the systems and process and their interaction.
* Definition and documentation of the test strategy for each project.
* Collaboration with other relevant business functions.

Car Mechanic / MOT Tester Bristol BS4 £23k – £30k + benefits depending on experience

Car Mechanic needed for busy MOT, Car service, repair and fast fit tyre centre in Bristol

The Role

As Car Mechanic / MOT Tester you will repair and maintain motor vehicles of all types including:

* carrying out standard servicing / repairs / maintenance to vehicles
* finding faults using computer diagnostic equipment
* road testing vehicles to check repairs
* appraising customer repairs, time and cost for jobs
* checking stock levels and ordering parts
* supporting/conducting annual MOT testing
* liaising with customers about advisory work / essential repairs to pass MOT

The Company

With a long and successful track record in car servicing, repair, maintenance and MOT certification, our client is now opening a brand new facility and modern workshop in Brislington, Bristol. They urgently require car mechanics, service technicians ( and MOT testers ) to work on all sorts of vehicle and automotive repairs including replacement clutch, exhaust, brakes, tyres etc. -and MOT inspection if qualified.

The Person

As Car Mechanic MOT Tester, you may have a relevant qualification or just the relevant years of experience in vehicle maintenance and repair. An understanding of vehicle diagnostics is essential for this role with good customer service skills and the ability to work as part of a team and take pride a good finished job. Desirable but not essential is a Level 2 MOT Testing Award.

Hours of operation are Monday to Friday 8.30 a.m. until 6.00 p.m. and Saturday 830 a.m. until 5.00 p.m. You will work a 5 day week between Monday and Saturday.

The Role

As a MOT Tester you will be always thinking of how to achieve the highest standards in customer service, whilst ensuring that safety and quality are top of mind. A MOT Tester has technical knowledge and a professional attitude, they are able to work to efficiency/productivity targets, run diagnostics, resolve faults, suggest and make improvements. As a MOT Tester you will support other MOT Testers as well as Technicians in this busy environment and you will have the support of the brand to ensure that their knowledge and skills are up to date.

Role Requirements

To be a success in this role, you will have:

The knowledge to use modern diagnostic equipment
The capability of working to the highest quality standards
Great team player and communication skills
Maintain high standards of house-keeping
Prior experience of working to efficiency targets
A full UK driving license
Main dealer experience preferable but not essential
Experience in the brand would be an advantage
VOSA approved MOT tester also an advantage but not essential
Time served or hold NVQ qualifications to Level 3
