Construction Project Manager

Direct Workforce are working with our well-established client to recruit for a Construction Project Manager based in Doncaster managing projects throughout South Yorkshire.

The role carries senior professional responsibility for the development and delivery of all new construction development and other major reconfiguration and refurbishment. The successful candidate will be the principal advisor on all major construction development to the Executive and the Board through the Chief Executive Officer. You will provide major building and construction expertise to support the development of the organisation.

Duties and responsibilities of the successful candidate:

* Provide the necessary in-house professional construction project management in the development of any new services.
* Provide major building and construction expertise to support the development of the organisation and be the principal advisor on all major construction development to the Executive and Board through the Chief Executive Officer.
* Work closely with internal colleagues and external partners to ensure all of the relevant stakeholders needs have been considered as part of any business/service reconfiguration and in the development of any new services. Quality, compliance, commercial awareness, construction management and leadership will be paramount.
* Working closely with the Chief Executive Officer, the Finance Director and the Head of Estates & Facilities to ensure that a construction development strategy is in place that supports the development and achievement of the business strategic and operational objectives.
* Preparing, tendering and dynamically managing the business Major Property Construction Projects capital programme budgets and delivering schemes to time and cost.
* Take responsibility for working up proposals, costings and business cases for all new property development schemes, including residential new builds and major refurbishment or reconfiguration of the existing property portfolio.

Skills and experience required:

* Qualifications essential to the role
* Appropriate professional registration/accreditation, e.g. Chartered Institute of Building, Chartered Engineering Institute, Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, Association for Project Management.
* Recognised project management qualification.
* Experience Essential to the role
* Successful track record of working in a senior construction development role within an environment of comparable scale and complexity.
* Experience of the strategic development, project management and implementation of major projects including new builds and refurbishments.
* Experience of delivery of value for money/efficiency related changes.
* Experience of leading successful commercial negotiations.
* Experience of managing budgets and achieving consistent cost improvement.
* Successful track record of delivering challenging targets and achieving results.
* Knowledge and thorough understanding of relevant aspects of health and safety legislation and implications.
* Knowledge of key aspects of management practice including principles of effective supervision and appraisal and relevant aspects of employment legislation including recruitment and selection.
* Knowledge of financial management.

40 Hours per week. Our client can offer salary £55,000 per annum plus car allowance, pension and annual leave.
